Fishing for... changeover day!

Today was "changeover day," meaning that some of our campers went home and other campers arrived. So we thought we'd show you a cute little tradition that Hannah established, in which she hands out awards the night before she and many other campers go home.

Who will receive an award? It's a knuckle biter!

Chef Patty

James B., one of our two birthday boys, received "The Best Friend Award."

Hannah makes up the categories and recipients herself, and she chose Beth for "Best New Person." We want to give a shout out to Beth and all the other "new" counselors from the first week (some of whom are not so new because they work at the July session), including Hannah, Joe K., Annie, Olivia, Avery, Addy, Charlie, Day Emily, and all other highly esteemed "new" counselors not listed here due to the goldfish brain of the guest blogger. (I refuse to name
the dozens of "old" counselors, but obviously we love and admire them too!)

Today we went to the fishing derby, hosted by the good people at Martha's Vineyard Rod and Gun Club.

Cy caught a catfish, with the help of MV Rod & Gun Club volunteer John, who has been helping Cy catch fish at this event every year for a long time. (Dude, if your name isn't actually John, blame the fish... the goldfish that is my brain... again.)

Thanks for the hats, MV Rod and Gun Club!

James B. was happy to see Keagan, who just arrived today.

Will Dr. Pepper please give us thousands of dollars for creating heartwarming advertisements with good-looking models?

C'mon, Dr. Pepper, hand over the money already! It doesn't get any better than this!

Dominic entertained us, the fish, and anyone in a two-mile radius with his inimitable vocal stylings.

Erin's part of the two-hat club. All the cool kids are doing it.

Nick caught two fish today, a catfish and a sunfish.

Good friends reunited.

Three awesome cousins! We were so lucky to have Anna join us today.

Adam and Hudson watch the antics of a couple of young MV Rod and Gun Club volunteers. Adam and Hudson would never do anything goofy. They're too staid and mature. Right? (All immature antics by Adam and Hudson have been redacted from this blog.)

Because you just don't see enough photos of the inside of the bus. I aim to rectify that.

Jack's not just a camp director. He's also our bus driver.

Our evening activity was going to be the band concert at Owen Park in Vineyard Haven. But it got rained out. So...

Have we ever mentioned that Camp Jabberwocky likes to eat?
Specifically ice cream?
