Thursday and Friday: Moonlight Kayaking, Pool Party, and PLAY!

On Thursday we said goodbye to Carina, Zach, Margaret, and Judy (our blogger). We're sad they are gone, but now we have taken over the blog (Becca and Ben)...enjoy!

A HUGE thank you to the Fialkow family for a spectacular pool party this morning. We swam in their pool, went boating on the ocean, and played tennis on their courts. After our morning activities we enjoyed a barbeque lunch. It was an amazing way to celebrate the end of camp.

The annual Jabberwocky play is quickly approaching. We have been busy rehearsing and hope you are as excited as we are!

Thursday night we went moonlight kayaking on Chappaquiddick. After Mac’s heroic drive onto the Chappy ferry (see picture below) we set off at sunset and returned under the moonlight. A big thank you to the Trustees for an incredible trip.

A Beachin'-Boatin' Kinda Day

Here are some beach photos by Ben. There are hundreds more, but I'm too tired. Maybe he'll add them after I leave.

This afternoon we had a special treat - kayaks !!! We had much fun trying to balance campers and counselors without falling in. Some of us did better than others, but Kyle, Jeremy, and Daniel were good sports about being dumped into the drink. Life jackets are wonderful inventions, and we used them well. (Sorry about the repeat fishing photo, but I can't find it to delete it)

This evening many of the campers and folk went on one of the summer favorites - The Skipper! This year, in addition to catching the usual skum ? skimp ? scup ? (small fish), Adam and Athena each snagged a shark !!!!!! Since the blogger is VERY frightened of that particular species, it was a good thing she was not on the boat. Everyone enjoyed the picnic on board and the beautiful sunset.

Tuesday - ice cream, tacos, and b-ball

Today we had a special treat on our way to the beach. The "Barneveld Bunch" (Patty's friends back home in New York) treated us to Dairy Queen. Thank you so much. We stuffed ourselves with sticky stuff and then went swimming to wash it off and maybe even work some of it off.(not likely) Ben took 500 photos at the beach, so I'll share some of them with you tomorrow.

Today was Taco Tuesday and the cooks really outdid themselves with darling outfits, chili lights, and music. It was quite festive, and tasty too. What will we do next Tuesday?

Here are some photos from our basketball games we held tonight after dinner. Kirk finally arrived (see below, blue shirt) and we were very excited to see him. As you can tell, our counselors love b-ball and like to dress up in tight shorts and write weird things on their skin. (It could be worse). After the games, the counselors gave sweaty hugs to those who didn't play so they could experience some of the fun. We don't know who won, but since we weren't giving out any gold medals, it really didn't matter.
