DAY SIX

Our morning activities were print making, croquet, and pottery. We are working on pieces for an art show next summer. And we're having lots of fun.

Jeremy shows his enthusiasm for arts and crafts classes.

This will be a birdbath someday. Or so I hear.

Here we see Amanda in action. This has been a busy morning for her.

A group of campers went horseback riding. While waiting, they practiced their grooming skills. Their horse grooming skills, that is.

After lunch, we had a special treat. Dairy Queen!!!

Hurry, time's a wasting! We got some ice cream to eat!

Skipper hits the jackpot. With a diet Pepsi to wash it down.

Michael looks pleased with his choice.

Good idea, Patty
Thanks to our Barneveld friends for their generous treat.

Chris scares Jack. Then he does it again. Then, well, you get the idea.

Gracie, Cy, and Peter smile after their treat.

Now, it's time to go to the beach to wash off the ice cream.

See what happens when you fall asleep on the beach? Nathan seems content with his pillow and cool drink.

Paul and Hannah take a relaxing boat float. Hey, where are the counselors?

Craig and Darcy enjoy the water from a distance. Maybe they'll swim tomorrow. Or did they say that yesterday?

Paul gets to be towel boy today. And that's not half of them.

After dinner, the campers headed off to the movies. The blogger went for a walk. No photos were taken at the movies . They would be kind of boring to see, plus rude to the other moviegoers. No one wants to get kicked out of a theater.

DAY FIVE

After breakfast, we headed out to the Farm Institute to see the animals and try a hayride. Here we are figuring out how to fit everyone on that little wagon. We decided 2 trips would make sense, and everyone got to tour the fields in style. Luckily we loaded the chairs in a pick up, or we would have been in big trouble when we were dropped off at the corn maze.

Is everyone comfortable? Well, reasonably comfortable?

Here come the cows, the nice big cows, the nice big hungry drooling cows. Drive faster!

The barn tour got us up close and personal with some chickens and goats.

After the hayride, we attempted the corn maze. Having maps helped. Knowing which way to read them would have even been more helpful. (Where's north?)

Jeremy thinks he's got it figured out. Did anyone count how many people we started with?

Now, when you look at this photo, you are probably thinking we are reaching the end of our maze adventure. But, in looking glass manner, you must turn your mind around to see that we are really dragging the chairs backward through the maze. It just adds to the confusion and the fun when you can't see the ruts before you hit them. We have very determined counselors. Everyone went through the maze. Whew, that was tough work. We need to get to the beach. Now.

Monday night is Drumming on the Beach night, and we went to the beach at four and didn't leave until dark. Lots of food and dancing, our favorite things.

We do love our beach barbeques. Send more burgers!

Kirk entertains a group with amazingly funny jokes.

Rob and Philip do the tango? swing dance? Hokey Pokey?

Sarah joins the conga line.

Jack and Chris jump for joy.

Gracie makes a new friend.

Guest percussionists Skipper and Chris join the finale. Chris got his cowbell for Christmas, and couldn't wait to play it with his favorite drummer, Jude.

SUNDAY, DAY FOUR

Today we had a fun-filled day, which began with a late wake up. A bunch of us went to church in the morning, and Skip participated in church for the first time this summer.

We spent our afternoon at State Beach and almost everyone went swimming. It was a beautiful beach day.

At night, we went to the Tabernacle for the Vineyard Sound's 15th anniversary concert. We had a ton of fun, and great seats too. Cy, Peter, Grace, Michael F. and Skip loved being in the front row and were waving to the singers throughout the entire 3 hour performance.

A lot of the old members of the group came back to perform, and most of them remembered Camp Jabberwocky. Here's Jeremy with one of the founders of the group.

And here's the whole gang...
Tomorrow morning we're off to a corn maze---hopefully we won't get too lost and will make it out of there so we can post some photos!
